Botulinum Toxin Type A – BOTOX
Facial expression lines are created by contractions of the underlying muscles pulling the skin together when you smile, laugh or frown. An injectable protein, called Botox, stops nerve impulses from making the contractions. A minute quantity of the Botox protein is very precisely injected by a physician or trained aesthetician into the wrinkle with a very tiny micro-needle. Because the needle is so fine and only a small amount of liquid is used, the pain associated with the injection is minimal.
Following treatment expression lines will remain smooth. Normal facial expressions will not be affected. We call this the “Ideal Cosmetic Procedure” because it presents dramatic results, has no side effects and is non-invasive. You should expect to see the effects of the injection within three to four days. However, because some muscle fibers may remain active for longer, it may take seven to ten days to reach efficacy. Re-injection should be performed as the muscles appear to regain activity.
